Private Percussion Lessons
I offer private, weekly lessons for students of all levels from my studio located in Howard County, Maryland. I believe that when students are engaged and passionate about a subject, students are able to learn and retain the information being taught and reach their full potential. That’s why my teaching revolves around introducing new concepts which constantly provide new perspectives for young minds.

Realize your potential with personalized private lessons
Percussionists are known for their versatility, performing at a high level on many different instruments. My students receive expert instruction on all major percussion instruments, including snare drum, timpani, drum set, and mallet instruments like the marimba.
In addition, attention is given to the music that students are required to play in their school’s band program, as well as preparation for auditions and other events such as Honors and All-State Bands. Skills such as sight-reading, scales, and the ability to tune timpani are also addressed.
Practicing each instrument is essential to becoming a well-rounded percussionist, which is why my lessons cover everything from basic technique to performing music written for each instrument. I provide personalized guidance on each instrument, utilizing method books, custom exercises and etudes, and solo music.
The best percussionists are masters of not only rhythm, but also sound quality, or timbre. In my studio, I provide high-quality instruments that allow students to understand what makes a good sound.
